पेरू चा पापा

I walked in at work today in a huff without carrying my keys, wallet or watch! A friend of mine asked me to memorize "पेरू चा पापा" & say it once everyday before leaving for work. He promised that I'll then never ever have to face the same situation. I think it will work!

This has its origins in the milieu of the mill workers of Mumbai. In the mills every worker was required to sign in the muster with his own pen:to distinguish handwriting and unique attendance... this was before the slot card, hanky,wallet, need no clarification, while the key here was the key to their lockers..where their working clothes and tools would be stored..which later evolved to house keys in subsequent use. Pass again for a train commuting Bombayite is the commuting pass of life The wives would get their hubbies to remember this as the std after lunch snack would be the cut guavas ladled with salt and chilli powder...peruchey paapey gheta na..hey hi lakshaat asu dya... and the phrase caught on
