A good night sleep was what we needed and no one was in the mood of waking up early. Except Dharam! He wanted to catch the "early morning sunrise" that we have been skipping all our lives. He sure did....Satya and me got up later and after struggling with the regular things like hot water etc, we were ready at 8am. As expected, Ajaz's platoon was still snoring away. So we decided to have breakfast and leave ahead and find some accomodation that Wasim had been arranging since the begining of the trip!
Its never that easy is it? By the time we had break fast and figured out the route, it was almost 10.00am. In the hindsight, good that we had a heavy breakfast cause the lunch was almost going to be the dinner!

So the two Bull's with us started on our way to Malwan. Planned route was 'Kankawli-Kudal-Malwan' but around 7-8kms from Kankauli, we hit signs for Malwan via the 'Kankauli-Kasal-Malwan' route. Malwan this way was 33kms from Kasal i.e. approx 40kms from Kankauli. A good 10-12kms short than the originally planned route! The ride to Malwan was uneventful through superb twisties with a few stops for reviving the circulation in the butt and taking pictures and generally chatting. A few snaps clicked and we were in Malwan by around 12.00pm.
Konkan absolutely has no mobile network in lots of place especially in the woods and it was hard to know if Ajaz and his company had left or not. When we did manage to reach them, they had just left Kankauli and we were to meet them at Malwan Bus Stop. Which didn't happen cause they had taken the Ambition to the only HH service station in Malwan. Ajaz believes in setting things right the first time in all the wrong situations and now decided that this was the time to give the Ambition a thorough once over!!!! So much for prepping the bike BEFORE the ride......More frustration! No place to stay yet, no lunch and no end to this ordeal in sight.
While the bike was getting worked upon, I asked the owner Mandar for a route that ran by the sea. Ashwin Nadig, the inspiration behind Konkan trip, had clicked a picture of his bike standing on a road right by the sea and this is where i wanted to go. So Mandar, who surprisingly had a net connection and knew about google earth brought up the route etc and said he had done this sea route himself on a two wheeler! Were things finally turning my way?

We decided that the Bull's should move ahead and start looking for a place to stay since Wasim's friend wasn't sure of getting us a place. Off we went to Tarkarli where the MTDC resort was. And what a resort it was!! Beautiful cottages with hammocks strung on trees......With Dharam, Matin & Usman left to order lunch, me and satya went around looking for a place to sleep in the night. It being a long weekend, finding a place close by the beach was looking next to impossible. But finally we found a nice little place run by a family a bit away from the beach. Best part, the loo was clean and so were the rooms.
And at Rs.300 a night, what more could we ask for??? Done deal and we came back to MTDC for lunch. Food was taking forever to get ready so me and Dharam went back to the hotel and changed into our beach wears finally! Lunch was so-so. For close to Rs.120 a thali, it was expensive and food extremely ordinary. Anyways. It felt good to have our bellies full and the sand under our feet. With the rest of the junta heading back to change and rest, me, Dharam & Satya planted ourselves on the chairs and generally chatted looking at the route to take the next day....

Yes..the truth is we never made it to Goa and all cause of the gang turning up with bikes in bad shape and different expectations. But then again, Malwan didn’t seem like a bad place at all. So I mostly ended up feeling good. After a while at around 5.30pm, I just found my cousin sis and my BIL strolling around the MTDC area only to find that it was truly them. With the crowd hitting the waters, Dharam & Wasim deciding to spend some quality time with each other with my camera, I sat with my Sis and BIL chatting as the sun set spreading the beautiful hues of red, orange and yellow. Ah….damn stupid and cliché I know! So basically have no clue what happened with the rest of the gang until my sis left for Dajipur MTDC for the night safari and the junta finally regrouped. Since there were no pictures of these male-mermaids frolicking in the sea, Ajaz was might pissed. His feeling was that we weren’t doing any justice to his new Abhishek-like hairdo but truly, there is not one good snap of his!! Just wasn’t his day…(after all WE were put thru!). Usman readily shed clothes to do a Salman and here is his portfolio. Again, I’m absolutely straight and my good deed shouldn’t be misunderstood. Awsome food at Hotel Chaitanya in the night and a casual chat over pan blew away the stress. Satya’s bike managed to cross beyond the 2k mark and everyone celebrated by getting their snaps clicked on the Bulls. Time to hit the bed mates but guess what…Konkan it is and there was a powercut. Satya’s brains whirr big time in dark and the result are these cool pics with the candle that you see. Off to bed it was with no mention of Goa anymore. Buried it was for some other time! But we were getting our freedom the following morning! Yey!!!

Random Snaps --->
A 'Bhajan' competition! Must've been good.
For ever perfecting the bad guy look!
And Satya's feet fetish continues!
What ever....
Thought this angle might make me look better. But nah!
And try as we might, he just didn't click from any angle!
